5 most common mistakes UX designers make that result in high bounce rates

Are you sick of the fact that people don’t like using your website or app anymore? It’s time to see how well your UX (customer happiness) plan works. The goal of user experience design (UX design) is to make it easy for a user to connect with a website or software product in a way that makes the user happier with using the website or software. A good user experience (UX) is appealing and interesting, and it takes the customer on a smooth trip from the time they land on the page to the time they do what you want them to do.  

User experience design (UX design) is more than just making a pretty layout and a few buttons that catch your eye. A user experience designer needs to know how a user might move through the site and make it as easy to use as possible. This lets you show the user how to use the website (or app) and get them to connect with it.  

1. Leaving mental models behind  

The user’s idea of how the product should work and how it should meet the user’s needs is the mental model. Most of these are user expectations, and they are based on past experiences, user needs, other goods, and so on. When buyers try out a product and find that it doesn’t work the way they thought it would, there is a problem. The problem is that most designers are busy with things like mental models. The way they see the goods, but don’t take into account what the user might want. There is a difference between the two kinds of models because of this. This isn’t always a bad thing, but sometimes the difference is so big that customers feel very let down by the goods. Every UX designer needs to think about both of these models when making something. The design should be beautiful and well-thought-out, but it can’t be in any way what the creator wants. Designers can meet the real needs of product users if they keep the end user at the centre of their designs.  

2. Content that isn’t needed makes it harder to find your way around 

Call-to-action (CTA) elements are important buttons that push users to take the action you want them to take and help you make sales. Website or programme.  

How often do you find websites that, as soon as you load them, close your screen and replace it with a popup that takes up an entire page and asks you to sign up for an email or request a free demo? The most annoying thing about these windows is that they usually have a tiny “exit” icon somewhere near the top of the window, where users usually can’t find it. When inappropriate pictures block screens, they stop the natural flow of the customer journey and force users to take control and do things that have already been planned. All of this leads to a very bad experience for the user, as well as irritation and anger.  

It makes the people who use it angry.  

3. Putting new ideas ahead of ease of use, which is a big mistake  

When people go to some websites, like online shops, they expect to see a cart in the top right corner of the page. All eCommerce sites follow the same user experience standards.  

Users will be confused if a user experience designer decides to try something new and change the standard style of a resume. If the user comes on the homepage of an eCommerce site and doesn’t see the cart in the top right corner, it will be a big obstacle for them to get past, and they may even decide to stop shopping.  

In this situation, the most important thing to remember is that you shouldn’t change any of the basic parts that make browsing easy and quick for users.  

4. Riding a carousel   

Carousels are very famous, but contrary to what most people think, they don’t always give the person riding them something useful. Here’s a list of all the bad things about using a carousel on a website:  

It doesn’t add anything of great value; it’s just more knowledge. By changing the images automatically, you can give the users more power. takes attention away from the page’s information. Users should be told to scroll down in order to find real, useful information. To put it another way, a carousel is just a big picture with a small one next to it. Not surprisingly, most people choose to skip. If you want to add a carousel to your website, make sure that users can control it themselves (instead of having it run by itself) and that they can give useful feedback for each picture (make it clickable!).  

5. Not considering mobile UX  

There are already a lot of people around the world who use cell phones, and that number is likely to keep going up. Because of this, there has been a big increase in the number of mobile apps being made. Every modern company wants people to buy their apps, but not all of these apps end up being bought. Even so, most people only use an app for a few days on average. The app was taken away for a very clear reason. Poor user experience that makes it hard for people to find their way around your app and use it for what it was made for.  

Here are the most common UX mistakes that happen on mobile devices:  

-It’s a cute little button, but when you’re using a mobile device, you can’t see it.  

-A huge copy that looks like it goes on forever on your phone or tablet.  

-The picture is of very poor quality. It’s hard to get around. Another big difference between laptop and mobile user interfaces is how easy it is to get around.  

People who use the desktop version of a website tend to spend a lot of time looking around, while people who use the mobile version try to touch the screen as little as possible. So, it’s important to make sure that mobile navigation is simple and easy, and that the number of taps needed is kept to a minimum (but don’t overdo it, keep a balance).  

Also, make sure to test your app on different kinds of devices. Your app will need to be remade to fit the different screen sizes and resolutions of the devices that can view it.

The speed at which your website or mobile app works has a big effect on the quality of the user’s experience. If your site takes too long to load or if people don’t click the button to sign up for your email, they might just leave. It shouldn’t be a surprise that a UX designer is not the only person responsible for how a software product works. But improving the product happens behind the scenes, which makes it easy to forget or miss something important.
